Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Children show their creativity through their work and creations in the classroom. Often times, students lack the opportunities to express themselves and express their thinking. Providing children the hands-on experience is my classroom motto.

My students are smart and outstanding second graders.

We are at a Title 1 school and 97% of our students are on free or reduced lunch program. Families work very hard to make ends meet, and our students work hard to achieve their goals in school. All of our students are English Language Learners, and they struggle to be proficient in English and still maintain their native language. Overall, they are achievers!

My Project

The supplies that I'm requesting will make a big difference for my class. Students will have the resource to create art projects to reflect their learning. These activities will provide students with hands-on experience and memories in the classroom. The projects will create a closure for the students for each of the units that we learned in class.

My project is very important because students need to show their creativity through projects, not just standardize assessments.

As educators, we must push our students to meet the standards, however they need more meaningful projects so they would find education to be more purposeful and memorable.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
