Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
How does it feel when you are ANT-icipating something? That's just what my kids are doing now! ANT-icipating ANTS!
My students are very high needs students.
Most are non-English speaking, and come from shattered homes due to drugs and violence. School is a safe place for them, a place to get away from all of the bad. Almost every one of my students are economically disadvantaged and lack some of the resources that other students may have growing up.
My Project
These students very seldom get to look at the simple joys of life, and this project will allow the kids to do just that! We are requesting a variety of items to help the students learn about ants including an ant farm, ant books, ant poster, and insect model. From this hands on project, the kids will learn how to care for living organisms, as well as learn the parts of the ant and the way they live as a colony and team!
By donating to this project, you are allowing my students to get a hands on chance at science, and a front row seat to learning!
Kids learn so much better by seeing first hand, and even more when their little hands are part of the learning process!
