My Students

My students truly love reading books. We would love to be able to make every book life size by projecting it onto our big screen. We will also use it to bring our math manipulatives to life too!

I have an amazing class!

My first graders are from all over the world! I have students all the way from Norway, Romania, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and all over the United States. I even have students who are just learning to speak English for the very first time. It's exciting to see them grow and develop a love for learning throughout the school year.

My Project

A multimedia projector will enable our class to do tons of exciting things. We will be able to project any book onto a big screen. This will turn all of our books into BIG books. Shared reading helps to promote literacy in young students. It specifically promotes students having an opportunity to gradually assume more responsibility for the reading as their skill level and confidence increase. It will provide a safe learning environment for students to practice the reading behaviors of proficient readers with the support of teacher and peers. It will allow me to enable my students to focus on making analyses, predictions, drawing inferences, grammar and punctuation, vocabulary development, questioning, literacy elements, critical thinking, phrasing, fluency, intonation, character, and plot development. We will also use it during math instruction. Students will have the ability to mimic my movements with any manipulative we use by simply watching the screen.

Owning this specific piece of technology will help my first graders become better lifelong learners, readers, and mathematicians.
