My Students

America is one of most obese countries in the world. Our Advanced PE classes are challenging that notion with a strenuous class of weight lifting and plyometrics. Our students are lining up to get into this class. How nice it would be to show them concretely how they improve,

Our students are from a rural Southwest Virginia community.

Athletics are driving force to keep our students focused on school and self improvement. Most students come from lower income families and don't have the support and encouragement from home that they yearn for. By providing an Advance PE course in which the students can actualize there progress through noticing the heavier weights they are lifting and the higher they jump we are helping to promote self-esteem. Self-esteem is a large contributor to success in the core classes. The students are also gaining a knowledge of proper diet and exercise.

My Project

Our students are lining up to get into this class. How nice it would be to show them concretely how they improve their vertical jumping ability through weight training and plyometrics.

Giving students the opportunity to actualize performance and instantaneous feedback will help to grow our program and build better citizens for our community.

Focusing students on better health and ways of measuring accomplishments is our goal for this project.
