My Students

Technology changes our world every day. Most of my students are not able to use Internet resources and practice computer skills at home. An LCD projector would allow me to bring global issues and diverse people into the classroom and allow students to practice professional presentation skills.

My students come from a diverse and challenging urban environment in Indiana to our small charter school.

Our classes are social studies, government, and economics in grades 7-12. My students have little if any experience traveling outside our hometown, and struggle to visualize other cultures that we experience in class. Print resources help, but my students are truly engaged by video, sound, and Internet journeys around the world.

My Project

An LCD projector can be attached to a laptop computer to project anything from a computer screen onto our whiteboard. Using one, I can capture students' attention with high quality historical simulations, interactive maps and documents, and even talk live by webcam with our penpal class in Africa! Your generous donation would also allow government students to sharpen their reasoning and public speaking skills by presenting their mock trail cases to real life law professionals.

Your contribution will help bring American and foreign students together to learn collaboratively.

You will give my students the tools to present their carefully researched answers to their own insightful questions. Our future citizens need a global viewpoint to expand their visions of the world and make informed decisions. Your donation would help tremendously!
