Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are part of a K-8 school and our class does not get scheduled computer time in the lab. This makes working on reports and group projects a challenge.

My students are enthusiastic about learning.

They adore using Discovery Education, Everyday Math Games Online, Raz-kids.com, and other fantastic learning sites on the Internet. Unfortunately, many do not have computer access at home and we have 3 student computers that are barebones (no microphone, speakers, etc...) in the class for 17 children. I would love to have them create podcasts, write their endangered animal reports on the computer so they can embed images on the habitats and such of their animal, and much, much more. However, it's quite a challenge since I would have to repeatedly guide 6 small groups through each process.

My Project

Donating to this cause would greatly enhance my students' opportunities to become more computer savvy in a healthy way. The only sites they ever go on in my classroom are educational. Even any indoor recess time consists of educational websites. Shh...don't tell them! They eat that time up and adore the sites they are allowed to choose from. You will be helping them get so much more out of their learning experiences and help me use my teaching time more wisely.

Finally, you can make school even more fun (is that possible?!), boost test scores, enhance their skills and confidence, and help create healthy computer habits that will help my students reach for the stars!
