My students need hands on tools to help them learn time, such as listening centers, activity kits, clocks and games, as well as flash cards.

Do you recall when you could finally tell time, and how excited you were? Well, my darling second graders are trying to learn how to tell time!

My second graders live in an urban area and attend a science specialty school.

In first grade the students are introduced to time to the hour and half hour. In second grade it gets tougher! Now, for example, they need to tell time to the quarter hour. Time is a difficulty skill to learn, and the more practice, the better they will get at telling time.

My Project

My students need to tell time using analog clocks as well as digital clocks. They need to tell time to the half hour, on the hour, quarter to, quarter past, and everything in between! Having manipulatives to help them practice telling time will be wonderful. The more practice, the easier it will become for them to tell time.

With your wonderful donation, my students will be able to have more exposure to telling time during centers.

The clocks, games, cards, and scheduling chart will all be so beneficial for the students to learn all about time.
