My Students

Despite the achievement gap where only one in three of our economically disadvantaged students reads at grade level, students believe it is within their power to act as world citizens.

Since our classmates come from all walks of life and have immigrated to our school from all corners of the earth, we recognize the importance of cultural understanding and the enormity of economic disadvantage.

It is within our reach to suggest ideas for how to solve societal problems, global issues, and even how to close our own achievement gap.

My Project

Our class has embarked on a critical thinking challenge which can be expressed through writing a problem-solution essay on how to solve an issue that affects student learning and achievement. With the help of mini-markers, students will be able to illustrate their essays and add a vital touch of colorful creativity.

Think of this: our future rests on the shoulders of a thirteen-year-old; at this crossroads in life, is this student inspired to change the world?

You can put the tool of colored markers in the hands of that young teen to express ideas and make a personal commitment to learning and positive change in this world.
