My Students

There's nothing better than finding the perfect book you want to cuddle up with! Sometimes finding just the right spot is a challenge. Our Media Center's current bean bags have seen better days, and students would adore new, plush, attractive seating designed just for them and their new books.

My students are Kindergarten and First Grade library patrons of the school's Media Center.

Our Media Center is vibrant with color and many wonderful new books, but our patron seating is outdated and ragged. We have student tables and chairs, but beginner readers tend to seek out the cozy comfort of the old bean bags. Our current bean bags are out of shape and the seams are busting open. These new bean bag chairs would greatly enhance the Media Center's ambiance for reading, while serving 250 Kindergarten and First Grade students.

My Project

Developing a lifelong love for reading is a cornerstone in the vision of any library or Media Center. Building excitement for reading includes the environment in which students become immersed in their first reading materials. Part of this experience is fun, age-appropriate seating for young readers. It's elementary ... the more comfortable the seating, the more enjoyable the reading! The requested bean bag chairs are soft, cushy, and best of all durable for years of reading bliss. These chairs have a raised back so they are much more supportive and attractive than your average bean bag chair.

A children's library is a magical place for young students to embark on a never-ending journey through reading.

Your contribution to this project will inspire thousands of beginner readers to come by providing our library some of "small comforts" we all cherish when spending time with a good book. These chairs will not only enhance the visual appeal of our Media Center, but will provide an ever-inviting and comfortable spot for a young mind and a great library book.
