Expanding Our Creativity with Clay!!!

My students need clay and accessories.

My Students

Due to budget cuts and expanding enrollment there is limited funding for our elementary art program. My students have the desire to create and sculpt with clay but financially it is impossible for me to offer it to them more than once and even then they are limited on the amount of clay given.

They are aways asking "When do we get to use clay?" "Do we get to do it again?" Right now I have to tell them I'm sorry it costs a lot and we don't have the money for everyone to make another clay piece.

I want them to understand that art supplies are expensive and that we need to be resourceful and responsible when using them so that we are not being wasteful, but I also would like them to have the opportunity to create more projects with clay. I want to teach and show my students all the different aspects of art. Clay is a great medium for them to not only express themselves through a 3-D form but also a great way to teach them about texture, sculpture, space, and other artists who use 3-D form in their art.

My Project

I am asking for clay for the students so they can create more and experiment with different hand building techniques. I am also asking for stilts so that I can fire more clay pieces in my kiln at the same time. By having these resources my students will be given a opportunity that they have been desiring.

This donation will help around 600 young art students from grades EK-3rd Grade.

This will help enhance the students visual, tactile learning, and give them another way to express themselves.
