My Students

I have the greatest job in the world! I work with first, second, and third graders who have Learning Differences. I teach in a low socio-economic area, over 50% of our children receive free or reduced meals and we are a Title One school.

Many students with Learning Differences learn best in a visual and hands-on manner.

Even at this young age it is important to instill a respect for money and the ways to earn, spend, and save it. By having an ELMO presenter in our classroom we will be able to view movies online, view realistic checks and so many other things that will capture my students attention. Children who learn about the value of money at a young age are more likely to be responsible with it later in life. My students work so hard and they deserve to have the technology needed to develop into financially responsible people.

My Project

Many of my students come from low income homes, they want to succeed and often talk about the thing they want to get when they grow up. I would like to take capture imaginations with the technology that this projector and plant a desire to work, save and responsibly spend money. Students who know how the world works at an early age will be better equipped to live in it as independent adults.

Please help bring our classroom the technology we so desperately need in order to present math and other lessons in ways that are best suited to students in the special education setting.
