Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have had to throw away our old reading rug because it was so dirty and unhealthy to be in our classroom. We no longer have an area in our classroom where we can gather, meet, read, discuss, and share.

I teach in an inner city school in Georgia.

The family income is very poor and they struggle on a day to day basis. All of my students receive free lunch. My school is an older school. I have tried to make our classroom look very new and inviting. This is my students one safe place that they can come to and I want them to have the best of everything when they are in our classroom.

My Project

I am requesting a new reading rug. Since we have had to throw our old reading rug away we no longer have a special place in our room where we can gather. We use to use our reading rug 80% of our school day. The children would use it for reading. To work on projects together. To hold our classroom meetings and discussions. My students have been stuck at their desk doing most of these task because the alternative is hard tile.

By donating to our classroom rug you will be putting some life back into our classroom.

My students will be more motivated to complete the task that come day to day in our classroom. You will be putting a smile on each of my students face when they find out that they longer have to be stuck in their seat all day long.
