My Students

What would happen if the one and only yearbook camera breaks or malfunctions? A new DSLR camera will help protect us from an unfortunate accident. If our current camera is lost or broken there may be no memories for the yearbook.

Our school is located in east-central Iowa.

The main industries in our locale are agriculture and meat processing. Our school has a high Hispanic population with approximately 50% of our students qualifying for free-and-reduced lunch.

My Project

A yearbook can be defined in three ways: 1) by its profitability, 2) student coverage, and 3) the quality of photographs. Having an extra DSLR camera will help get each student in the yearbook at least 3 times. It will also be able to take higher quality photos than we have taken before. Lastly, more students will buy the yearbook when they know they'll find many cool pictures of themselves and their friends inside it.

An extra DSLR camera will allow my students to capture more moments in classrooms, at concurrent home and away games (especially during basketball, wrestling, soccer, and track season), and at more fine arts activities on the weekends.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
