Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our reading program is set up so that we read one story as a class each week. By the week's end my students are understandably tired of that story. I need additional reading material to keep their interest.

My students are English Language Learners and many are new to the United States.

My bilingual first graders are from low socio-economic backgrounds. Our Title One school struggles to provide as many basic necessities for our students as we can. My students are eager to learn not only English but also about the world around them.

My Project

I need a weekly magazine that will rekindle my first graders' interest in reading class at the end of the week. My first graders will love opening up their very own magazine each Thursday. A magazine that is new each week will help them to look forward to reading all week.

You will make it possible for my students to look forward to reading all week long by bringing Weekly Reader into their hands each week.

Your donation will enable me to continue to provide current, relevant information to my students every week.
