My Students

Everyone is a winner when they understand math. That is why I am asking for math games for my students. I love math and I think everyone should. I want math to be inviting to students, while ensure that they are engaged and learning.

We are a title one school.

That means almost 100 percent of our students receive free or reduce lunch. I purchase pencils and paper for my class because for most of my students it a choice between survival and school supplies. The decision is survival. Most of my students find math very difficult. They enjoy math games. They asks to play them all the time. I have to borrow games from the other teachers, because they have played all of my game so many times, and want something new.

My Project

I chose games that focus on the standards that are most difficult for my students. My students have a hard time with addition and subtraction. Mostly because they do not quite understanding place values. We are allow a limit time to teach each standard and all though I give homework as a way to practice, it is usually not done due no help at home or other problems. However, with Afternoon Fun (free time after the student have pack up at the end of the day) and Fun Friday my student will get the extra practice they so greatly need. The students will be allowed to review and practice math skills through playing games and because they will be in groups, I will be able to pull students and give individual help to those students who would benefit from the one on one help.

My students and I can't begin to express the how grateful we would be for this great gift.

These are more than just math games, these are tools for understanding. Tools that will lead to better grades, higher test score, and overall success in math. On behalf on my class and myself thank you for helping them because great mathematicians.
