Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an elementary school in Texas. My school is predominantly low income. Moreover, many of our students are at risk.

As a result, most of my students do not have a computer at home nor do they have Internet access at home.

As a result, many of them know nothing at all about using computers. It has always been a dream of mine for my students to come into the classroom and not have to wait for other students to get done with their research before they can start their research. I have always wanted all of my students to be able to use a computer the way all of us use computers at our jobs. Students need access to computers without waiting for one. Will you help me?

My Project

To help fulfill this need, I am requesting one netbook computer for my class. With this netbook, we will be one computer closer to having a computer for every student in my class. There will not be as much waiting. Moreover, children will have more access to a computer when inspiration hits them as opposed to waiting in line.

Please consider helping the students in my school.

With your help, they can begin to reach their full potential. When students begin to see what they can do, they develop confidence, skills, and the ability to believe in themselves.
