My students come from a high poverty situation and still need to learn the importance of sustaining our environment. Our school, like so many others during these troubling economic times, is unable to provide enrichment activities like this ecosystem kit to our students.
Our students are very bright and inquisitive, but we lack the resources to tap into their potential.
They are passionate about their surroundings and would greatly enjoy this enrichment activity! These students, although crippled by poverty, work hard daily on their tasks.
My Project
By creating and sustaining a mini ecosystem in our classroom, these students will learn what factors have a direct effect on our environment. The students will determine the conditions that are necessary to keep an ecosystem functioning properly and will analyze possible effects that manipulating the environment will have on their surroundings.
By donating to this "Sustaining Ecosystems Kit", your contribution will greatly benefit students that have the passion for science and the environment, but lack the resources to develop their potential.
Please help them reach maximum potential and cement their learning experience of our surroundings!
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
