My Students

Repeated studies are showing that there are positive, tangible and measurable results in using technology to improve student achievement. The problem is that my students are denied this opportunity because of budget cuts.

My students are mostly African Americans and Latinos in a high poverty district in New York City.

I am a special education and social studies teacher and my students can benefit from this projector as a differentiation tool. It is my experience that my students are more interested in my lessons when I employ technology.

My Project

Multimedia presentations, such as can be provided by this projector, can result in greater student involvement, greater assessment results, and a more enriching learning experience. By utilizing my skills as a photographer and blogger, this will also assist in making my lessons more meaningful to the experiences of the students.

We have a high-powered, demanding curriculum and using this projector will be an effective use of technology.

Technology is an important tool, but it is not the end. By employing this projector in students' group work, student presentations, and in my mini-lessons, I know it will ultimately result in significant improvements in student performance and student achievement.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
