My Students

"Worksheets! Can we do something else besides worksheets?" My students like a change of pace from book-work and skills-pages. We try to mix things up and do stations and centers. However, we need a few supplies and activities to help us learn topics in a variety of ways.

Our middle school students are from small towns or they live in the country.

Many of them live on farms and are used to being busy. It is difficult for them to stay seated for 65 minute blocks of time. We need other resources to help break the time into smaller units. They especially like doing stations, but we lack some of the games and activities that are more than worksheets. They enjoy doing hands-on activities.

My Project

The Math Maniac supplies requested include dominoes, station resources, puzzle and activity books that will help relate math to art and social studies. My students will be able to reinforce their math skills in a way that is hand-on and challenging. Most of my students are kinetic learners and need to be actively engaged to understand the topics.

It is essential that students have a firm grasp on mathematics to be successful in the world.

Math teaches discipline and logic. Students who continue to struggle in middle school are at risk of falling through the cracks. Please help me to make them Math Maniacs, who are successful in high school and beyond.
