My students need some really interesting animal molds, so that they can create fossil like replicas to bury in our sand fossil dig in our school courtyard!
Think back on a discovery that thrilled you, inspired you to learn more, was excitable and really fun at the same time. Yes, you guessed it !! A fossil dig . We are in need of interesting realistic animal like print forms, that we can cast and bury in out fossil dig. Let the excitement begin!
Our school is filled with bright eager to learn students , who come from many different backgrounds.
We are a growing elementary school that encourages the ability to learn through the arts challenging our students to be hands on learners. We are a new society with challenging issue, our young learners are our future. We believe.
My Project
Students will be actively engaged in creating animal footprint and fossil replica forms from reusable rubber molds. They will adaptively use these molds to fit into the curriculum through art, science and history standards. Older students will make the fossils and transplant them into the existing fossil dig. Younger students will then dig and uncover the fossils during their fossil exploring lessons. All students will have an opportunity to learn about the fossils and animals prints through hands on discovery a and technology based lessons. These molds are only the beginning of opening the door to other potential learning activities .
These molds are essential to the fossil dig to be actively usable.
At this time we have no artifact or objects in the fossil dig area really need your help to get this great learning opportunity underway! A few interesting and identifiable molds would greatly help and the replication with these molds will allow us to replenish the fossil dig as needed. Today's students are hands on learners and this is a great way to combine the arts and science into their play! Think of the possibilities
