My Students

Move over!!! I can not see!! In my classroom this is what I hear everyday. My dinosaur of an overhead is on its last leg. Think about going to see a movie but you can only see maybe 25% of the screen...welcome to my classroom.

I work in one of the largest urban districts.

My students face many challenges here in our community. They are a great bunch of kids that love to learn. I have bought all of the school supplies for my students to use. I try to make sure that when they come to school they have everything that need to get through the day.

My Project

I need a document camera to use in my classroom. A document camera is a great way to visually explain things. In my opinion, most of the students in my classroom are visual learners. They have to see it before they make any attempts try something new. I can use the camera to read books to the class and listen to them read as well. Document camera cut down on the usage of paper (which will help save trees) and overhead films. The document camera can be use to display images on the Smartboard and projector. The district is constantly telling us we need to use more technology in our classroom. However, with recent budget cuts there is just not enough money anymore.

I really want to give my students a chance to see how technology really works.

I think a document camera will stimulate my students visually and mentally. I want to provide my students with every opportunity to learn. A document camera is an excellent start. With your help, I can make this happen.
