My Students

I am a fourth grade teacher in a Title One school located in New York City. I teach an eager group of students who are fascinated with the thought of learning through game playing.

My students are very inquisitive.

They absorb knowledge like little sponges. But, they are still only children and enjoy learning through playing games. It is wonderful to see thirty children involved with a game that is teaching division. Imagine listening to children actually having a discussion about why an answer is correct. It is amazing.

My Project

I have been borrowing games from other teachers but now my class needs their own games. I would love to have a game that teaches reading skills, such as inference, vocabulary and main idea. This is taught through the Reading games library. Plus, learning division or mastering multiplication can be reinforced with games and laughter using the Math library. Bingo is a game the entire class can enjoy.

Remember when you were at school and the teacher would allow time to play games?

Probably this didn't happen, but you can make it possible for my fabulous students. Shouldn't we allow children to learn in an agreeable fashion? Games, laughter and school would be a winning combination.
