My Students

Do you remember getting lost in a book so that you could not even put it down for one second. I want to show my children that love of reading that will follow them throughout their lives. I want them to be able to read for fun as well as learning and enjoy it.

My students come from low income families where they do not have books at home to read.

Many only read or get read to during the school day. They have never felt that love of reading or realize how wonderful it can be to get lost in a book and look up at the clock and realize an hour has passed. They struggle with reading and find it difficult. I want to help them to discover that reading is exciting and fun.

My Project

This book nook will allow my students to pick a book and then get comfortable to read it. It will allow them to get lost in a book but also allow me to monitor the area as well. I want them to leave my classroom with the love for reading that I experienced as a child.

Please help my children learn that reading can take you to a different world and help you escape into a book.

That reading helps us in all areas of our lives and can make our lives rich and exciting.
