My Students

Help us learn our letters and build strong readers. The use of technology can be an amazing tool when working with struggling students.

My kindergarten classroom is full of enthusiastic learners.

These students are curious and want to learn. However, many students do not have the support or tools for learning at home. Many of our classroom families have just moved to the country and they have a difficult time helping their child with school work.

My Project

I would like to create a take home Leapster bag for students to continue learning at home. Having the use of technology is an important tool for all students. If I am able to send home the Leaspters with my low students as an intervention tool I will be able to prevent many students from falling behind. These handheld games have shown to be a very successful intervention tool. The students are excited by the games and they do not require much adult help to run them. This would help to level the playing field and ensure equal access to learning for all students.

When students can read it opens the door for learning.

If we start in Kindergarten and provide intervention from the start we can reach many students who might have otherwise fallen through the cracks. Your donation will help to build a classroom full of readers.
