My Students

The world of technology is changing the way people learn about many subjects. With the advent of gaming, our students use technology to the fullest and are immersed into some amazing worlds. Our students are used to this technological approach, but education has not caught up!

Our school is located in a diverse section of Indiana.

The students receive Music instruction as part of a rotation of electives. Our program reaches over 900 students per year. These student are constantly engaged in building higher level thinking skills through meaningful activities. Your gift will be able to add to their level of education.

My Project

I would like to use these resources in many different ways. The use of technology in the classroom is not new however, the use of gaming is. I would like to use the Wii and some of the games available to teach musical concepts including pitch recognition, rhythm, and sight singing. There are several activities already on the market that make this available. Games such as Wii Music, Guitar Hero and Rock Band all have elements in which students could learn musical concepts.

It's amazing to think that our students have more technology resources in their homes than in the place where they come to learn.

I am asking that you support this out of the box teaching method that will inspire the next generation of musicians and arts supporters. Thank you for your continued support of education and Game On!
