My Students

The discovery of space in a small town! Expand my students knowledge, so that they can embrace more than their small world.

I teach a class filled with very energetic and inquisitive 8th grade students.

Our small rural school in Arkansas has over sixty percent of our students who receive free or reduced lunches. My students are motivated by hands-on activities that support the lessons I teacher.

My Project

The resources I have requested support our unit on the galaxy and also soil study. The Mars Kit includes 3-D glasses, which my students will love! They will learn about the red planet and be able to compare it to our own environment. The realistic celestial model will be displayed at our classroom lab table, to reinforce our lesson daily. I want my students to be able to touch and learn through hands-on activities. This type of lesson really brings our frameworks to life!

I am in my second year of teaching, after a 20 year career in retail training.

I know that any time you can experience something rather than read about it, you are truly learning. Students in our small rural school are not always exposed to the biggest and the best. I want to make that difference in their life and do the best for them that I possibly can.
