My Students

What better way to plan for college than in your own college planner? My students are excited about college; they are studying for entrance exams, attending college fairs and planning college visits. Now all they need is a place to store college information and stay on top of deadlines!

I teach 11th grade English at a public expeditionary learning high school in New York.

Our students come from challenging backgrounds and low-income communities, yet they continue to strive to overcome life challenges and attend college. We engage students in rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum and prepare them for college through meaningful, real-world work. Our students know that they can reap the benefits of their hard work and, in many cases, that they can be the first in their family to attend college by demonstrating responsibility in school and by remaining committed their goals. They are anxious to move forward in the college-planning process and to move one step closer to their ideal careers.

My Project

My students need monthly planners to get organized and stay on top of the college admissions process. They need a reliable, consistent place to keep track of assignment deadlines, college-prep course schedules, exam dates, college-fairs, and college application and financial aid deadlines. Not only will these materials help students get into college through effective planning, they will also help my students prepare for the schedule of an actual college student, and will teach them life-long time management skills.

Please help my eager college- bound juniors get organized and get into college.
