My Students

I am a first year teacher in a low-income, rural community in Tennessee. Our high school has about 1,250 students. I want to see all students have the same opportunities and excel. These students are working toward applying for scholarships and applying to colleges.

These students are high school juniors from a county in rural Tennessee.

They are deciding which path to take after high school, and I am preparing them to go to college or vocational schools. We discuss various career and educational options in class.

My Project

I am requesting two HP computers that can be used for a mini lab in my classroom. Students can use these computers to aid in research for writing projects or to pursue additional information about career and college choices. We will also use the computers for scholarship searches.

Two HP computers can make a major difference in the future of these students.

By having easy access to the computers, they will have better success on their writing assignments. I will be able to teach them about using computer sources as references and how to list them. In addition, the computers can be used to get information about various colleges and career opportunities. In addition, students can search for scholarships and financial aid information.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
