Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders learned to read and are eager to pick up chapter books like they see adults and older children doing so. Unfortunately, I don't have books that are longer that will continue to capture student's motivation and desire to read.

My students are wonderful first graders who have quickly learned to read and are eager to read some more.

The books in my library however are a small collection of picture books and lack some longer transitional chapter books. Their motivation for reading is directly correlated to their access to books.

My Project

Your donation could provide books that will challenge readers to transition into chapter books with the exciting and humorous stories of Frog and Toad. My students absolutely love these characters and are eager to read more challenging text about them.

This project will motivate student to read higher leveled text, foster reading comprehension skills, and continue to teach reading skills.

With each student having access to a copy of this wonderful book, the possibilities in learning to read are endless and critical to educating literate children.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
