This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I need to use any possible technique to help motivate my students to read. The issues found in Time for Kids covers a wide range of real-world topics that kids love to learn about.

I teach in a high needs, low sociol economic district.

Year after year our students come up short on the writing portion of the MEAP test. I have been looking for ways to help motivate my students to want to read, learn and improve their vocabulary.

My Project

Time for Kids is one of the best nonfiction text that I could use to help motivate my students. Through Time for Kids I will be able to build reading and writing skills and relate the articles to other subjects we are already studying. Time for Kids will help me to boost their comprehension skills, build vocabulary and practice using maps and graphs.

By making a donation to this project you will directly impact 50 students this year alone and many more to follow.

My hope is to influence students to read anything, it doesn't just have to be a book.
