Mrs. Stern from Baltimore MD is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 5 sets of animal habitats including worms, butterflies, and frogs.

Do you remember the first mud pie and earthworm cake you made in your back yard with your friends? Well, I do but many of my 5 year old students do not. Please help bring life science to my classroom with funding the supplies needed (butterfly, earthworm, ladybug, and ant farms).
I work with an inclusion (special ed and regular ed students) Kindergarten class.
Our school has very limited funds so the purchase of science materials was not at the top of the list. Reading and math came first. This makes teaching science difficult with the lack of supplies needed.
I work in a city school where many of the children do not go outside and play. When asked what they did over our snow vacation, many of them said they watched T.V. and played video games. We just finished a unit about animal life cycles and the students do not really understand the concepts. They have trouble with just pictures. I was hoping that someone would fund this project to help support the skills being taught this unit. I am asking for live animals to place in the classroom so that the students can observe what is happening and we can keep a journal of their observations. We talked about butterflies, frogs, ants, ladybugs, and earthworms and these are the habitats that are on our wish list. When I brought fish into our classroom the students love watching them everyday. Most often that is the first thing they look at when they come into the classroom in the morning.
Please help with this project.
It is very import to me that these children experience as many things as they can within the school. Many of their parents do not take them places due to the hours they work and the limited fund they have. So please, help our students. It would mean the world to them.
