My Students: If only kindergarten students were 6 feet tall, then they would be able to reach my word wall. The way my classroom is built, there is no space for me to make a accessible word wall that my students can manipulate.

My students are wonderful full day kindergarteners. We spend the whole day together exploring language, reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and more. My students love to learn and are huge sponges, soaking up all they can. Our school has only been open an few years, yet we have cultivated a warm, caring school family.

My Project: Currently, my students can look up at our word wall to help them spell the words correctly. Those words are on flashcards, in games, and on paper. However, I can only begin to imagine the amazing activities my students could do with an interactive word wall. My students could actually take a word back to their seat to spell it, put the words in alphabetical order, and sort the words by sounds, letters, etc.

Creating a space for my students to, not just look at, but explore sight words will be great! This will be a constant in my classroom that can be used for many years to come. An interactive word wall can serve so many purposes and will truly enhance word work in my class. hide»

My students need a Stand-Up Magnetic Design Center and magnetic sentence strips to practice writing. details»

Dear Scott and Anonymous Donor,

As you know, I am VERY grateful for your donation to our classroom! The kids really enjoyed working with the word wall on one side and working on math concepts on the other side. It was definitely a hit with all my students, and it will be for years to come.

The benefits of being able to manipulate the words on a word wall is huge. It really helps the students understand even more about how the alphabet and words work. I am excited to keep using it and seeing what more the kids can come up with for our wall.

The magnetic sentence strip are useful as well. It will help the kids practice handwriting, spelling words, and making sentences. They are great!

Thank you again for your donations!

With gratitude,
Ms. B.

Dear Scott and Anonymous Donor,

Thank you so much for donating to our project!!! My students will be thrilled to get this board that I can turn in to an interactive word wall. This will be a favorite work station for many years to come.

I am so excited! I have the words ready to go. As soon as this board comes in, we will put it to good use. I can't wait for my students to be able to manipulate this word wall. There are so many great things they can do. And the magnetic sentence strips will help my students create sentences with these words. The activities we could do with these two things are endless.

Thanks to your generous donations our little word wall will come alive! My students and I thank you so very much!!!

With gratitude,
Ms. B.
