The way my classroom is built, there is no space for me to make a accessible word wall that my students can manipulate. My students are wonderful full day kindergarteners. We spend the whole day together exploring language, reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and more. My students love to learn and are huge sponges, soaking up all they can. Our school has only been open an few years, yet we have cultivated a warm, caring school family. My Project: Currently, my students can look up at our word wall to help them spell the words correctly. Those words are on flashcards, in games, and on paper. However, I can only begin to imagine the amazing activities my students could do with an interactive word wall. My students could actually take a word back to their seat to spell it, put the words in alphabetical order, and sort the words by sounds, letters, etc. Creating a space for my students to, not just look at, but explore sight words will be great! This will be a constant in my classroom that can be used for many years to come. An interactive word wall can serve so many purposes and will truly enhance word work in my class. hide» My students need a Stand-Up Magnetic Design Center and magnetic sentence strips to practice writing. details» |
