My Students

Help make change Happen. My students have learned how to use movie maker to create their films but they don't have the equipment to make it happen. We have 6 movies to film and only one camera. They want to show how things have improved our lives by change. Help with the change!

The students I teach are dedicated to the finished product.

They are students in a gifted program who need to be creative and do projects that take them outside of the day to day curriculum. They have been provided the opportunity to have a Film Festival and start the first one in our county, but they don't have the resources to make it happen. They deserve to see the hard work they have created come to life. I have a mixture of 4th and 5th graders who do not have the technology at home to use on their projects. They need to be provided with the technology. The students are showing how Change Over Time improves our world and technology is the topic for one film but their technology is not changing.

My Project

The resources I have asked for are digital cameras and accessories to go with the cameras. These resources will allow my students to film their movies in a timely manner without having to wait for the one camera we have to be used by the other group. The students will not have to rush through the filming process if they have more cameras to use. The students will be able to have their film on their own memory card to download after the filming while another group can use the camera. The students will be learning how to create a product to inform their audience in an entertaining and creative way. It will give the students a 21st century way to present their research they have completed as well as being creative into being writers of the movie.

My project is so important because the students witnessed a Movie Academy in a surrounding county and got excited.

We planned, prepared, and began to implement the filming, but then filming stopped. Our funds got frozen and we weren't able to purchase the materials we needed to be successful. The Movie Academy is fast approaching and no movie has been filmed. Research, scripts, practice and planning has been done, but no filming. The show must go on.
