My Students

Guitar Hero is the most popular game in history because kids want to be Rock Stars.

My guitar students are 4th and 5th grade students that want to learn how to play the guitar.

They are very excited to learn to play and are using the guitars donated from a program I attended called "Little Kids Rock." There are about 40 students wanting to play and we are in need of these items to help us be successful.

My Project

In our musical pursuit, we have experienced a few roadblocks. I have requested electronic tuners, guitar straps, and a music stand to help us overcome the challenges we are facing with guitars being out of tune and only one tuner for the class to share. The guitar straps will help insure that the guitars will be safe during the lessons and keep them from being dropped to the floor. The students are very motivated to learn and this has been a very positive experience for them. We just might hear one of them on the radio someday.

By providing these materials to my students, you will be encouraging their love of music and learning!

This is a group of students engaged in learning something new that they can use for a lifetime. They are in lessons weekly but most of the students are practicing daily. Their interest in this class is helping them to find success in other areas of the school experience. They are composing some of their own songs and it is a joy to be their teacher!
