My Students

Be the one giant leap for our learning. Our second grade classroom is in need of a world rug. Not only is our current rug old and torn, the world rug would help students to solidify their understanding of the seven continents and the placement on our Earth.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and socioeconomic climates.

Each student has their unique way of learning. Many of my students learn through seeing and being able to picture the world around them. They are curious and want to explore each project, activity and assignment with motivation and excitement. These students are the reason I became a teacher originally. Allowing young minds to see the environment around them and understand how to change our community to make a better place. These are the students that can do it if they have the resources and learning environment to help ignite their curious minds.

My Project

My students are incredibly curious! Everyday they have new questions to help them build their understanding of the world around them. Throughout poetry, fiction and non-fiction texts we are always looking at our small globe to find far away lands and neighboring countries. The world rug would help support one piece of that puzzle for each curious and imaginative student in my class.

This is such a wonderful chance for teachers to create the environment and classroom we know is best for learning and best for children.
