My Students

Reading is the key to success! My students are just developing the decoding and comprehension skills needed to become independent, lifelong readers.

Our school is located in sunny, southern Utah.

Our class is comprised of students with diverse learning needs. Many children are working on acquiring basic reading skills. Others are reading more challenging literature and working on higher-level comprehension skills.

My Project

I have requested a non-fiction leveled library for our classroom as our classroom is in dire need of books!!! A leveled library enables children to choose and read books that are appropriate for their independent reading levels. Students will read these books during one of their daily literacy centers. As they read independently, children will practice the skills they have learned during shared reading and reading groups.

It is my goal for all children to develop strong decoding and comprehension skills in reading.

The ability to read well significantly impacts learning for the rest of a child's life. Success in reading enables children to thrive in other content areas as well. Help us accomplish our goal so that each child in our class will "read to succeed!"
