I teach 6th grade English to 200+ students in a moderate to low socioeconomic neighborhood.

6th grade has just moved from the elementary schools to the middle schools, and unfortunately, we have received very little funding for supplies. I want to meet the individual needs of my students while providing them with reading material that they will both enjoy and learn from.

I would like to provide a variety of Holocaust novels for my students to choose from for our literature circles. This allows the students choice in their reading material as well as ensuring that students are reading books at their reading level.

Not only will your help put books in the hands of students, but will allow for history to come to life for these children. I believe that this is an ideal age for children to learn about the Holocaust. They are developing their own sense of self and their personal value systems. Through learning the devastating effects of prejudice, they can stop it from happening in their world and in our future.
