I teach social studies, reading and math in a fifth grade classroom. We are a Title I school with more than half of our population on free/reduced lunches. Our school specializes in handling students with emotional and behavioral disorders.

Studies have shown that using a balance ball in the classroom keeps the students more focused. The balance ball helps to develop coordination skills as the child balances on the ball.

The balance balls will enable my students with attention problems to concentrate on the task at hand as subconsciously they are concentrating on balancing.

Students with these types of issues can often be discipline problems and the balance balls will help them to be more focused and less disruptive.
