Hello! I am a teacher at a charter school. I have 54 students that I see daily ranging from kindergarten to second grade. My school is very progressive and practical. We believe that learning should engage students and we do our best to make learning fun!

Reading is a struggle for many kids and often intimidating for the younger students. But, by using poetry, fluency and comprehension can be strengthened in a non-threatening way.

I need poetry books to expose my students to poetic literature. I need a poetry literacy center to let my students become actual poets themselves. I also need center resources in which students can practice building and manipulating various words, practice their fluency, and demonstrate their comprehension.

By donating to this project, you will contribute to the literacy of our future generation. You will instill within my students the desire to read and write. And, it's entirely possible that you will be inspiring the next Shel Silverstein or Roald Dahl!
