As a kindergarten teacher of students with and without special needs in a high poverty elementary school there are many supplies we are unable to get.

With recent and impending budget cuts with increasing demands on students and teachers, there are supplies that the school will not purchase even when used for data and recording-keeping within the classroom. There are papers stacking up in the classroom on crates, in recycled folders, and on the bookshelf because there are not enough organizational supplies to store the students assessment papers and portfolio samples. It is difficult to stay organized and neat using the current system.

Having folders for each student will provide a designated place for each piece of assessment documentation per subject. The ink will be used to further document assessments and progress for students with disabilities. Photos taken will be included in their assessment portfolios. Plastic envelopes will allow documentation to be transported between home, school, and administration.

You can help the students and I gain and maintain control over the mounds of paper needed to document student progress. Without you, the system of clutter will continue.
