I teach first and second grade elementary school students with autism in a public school.

Reading area is the most frequented by the students. Many times it is hard for them to use it as they should, because it is hard to find favorite or needed books. The books are placed in order at the shelves, but not divided into reading levels. Often, students end up getting books that are inappropriate for their reading levels. If the books where separated into levels, they would go and check for their "Letter" and get the book from that bin. While reading the students sit on the floor.

Students need to read a lot, especially books they can read right at their fingertips. To make the library Student-friendly, books bins are needed to organize the books by reading level and/or subject. By having labeled baskets it will be easier for the students to get the right books for their levels and interests. Instead of spending time searching for the right books, students will spend time exploring and reading the books. Therefore, I have requested book bins to separate books by reading levels and a carpet for the Library area.

Your donation will make the library easy, accessible, and students who have access to books are more likely to read for enjoyment and information. As a result, their reading skills will definitely increase.
