My Students

Do you know what it was like when you were excited about completing a project in middle school that allowed you to be active or allowed you be outside? Have you ever created a project in school that involved you building an object or taking an object and timing how fast it goes or how far it goes?

I teach seventh grade Integrated Science which includes, atmosphere, human biology, cells and heredity, and motion and forces.

I teach at a very high-need, Title-One, and focus school in Charlotte, North Carolina. Many of my students are on free and/or reduce lunch.

My Project

I want to introduce my students to "Forces and Motion" which will include many fun activities. I will be able to introduce my students to speed and velocity by using toy cars and truck, stopwatches/timers, and many other creative elements. My students will be able to use a stopwatch/timer to test how fast an object goes and distance the object travels. My students will be able to test acceleration using toys cars and trucks. Each one of these items will enhance my students' learning and increase their knowledge ability on speed, acceleration, velocity, and force. We will complete activities that will also get these students outside which will also increase their physical fitness which is also a plus with middle school students.

My students do not have much but they are eager to learn and they are grateful when others invest in their academic well-being.

My students have so much to deal with but supplies should not be one of those things. Your donation will make sure a child's academic level is increase by using differential learning to address the different learning styles within my classroom. Your donation will make a major impact because when my students see that others care they become more motivated.
