They Love Reading!

My students need 60 subscriptions to Weekly Reader Magazine.

THEY LOVE READING! My students absolutely love to read. I am a 4th grade language arts and literacy teacher in a high poverty district. I make it a point every year to establish a strong love for reading with my students. I present reading in a fun and entertaining activity for my students. I show them my love for reading as well. For the past 2 years I have created an atmosphere in my classroom, where students LOVE to read, and get excited to read.

99.9% of the books that are accessible to my students are fiction. They love stories about fantasy and adventure. Along with a love for reading, my 4th graders LOVE asking me questions. "When was this invented.." "Who did this... and that.." "Where is this..." They have the urge and drive to know facts and information, they're curious. Since the majority of our books are fiction, we need some nonfiction in the classroom. Nonfiction will provide answers to their questions and curiosity.

My students would absolutely love a subscription to Weekly Reader Magazine. The Weekly Reader Magazine is nonfiction based and will provide the information and materials needed in our classroom. It would also be very special if each student was able to have their own subscription and able to keep their Weekly Reader.

My students and I would be extremely thankful for your help with obtaining Weekly Reader Subscriptions. My students need to build their background knowledge and obtain information about the world around them. Many of my students haven't been out of the city they live, these magazines will provide them with information and experiences to increase their knowledge.
