Student Science Dictionaries for Inquisitive Minds!

My students need 20 copies of "The American Heritage Student Science Dictionary".

My Students

The latest research states that students learn best when reading 'wide' - accessing many different types of content and that readers advance the most by reading material that is just past their current reading level. These dictionaries will help me provide lots of content for my students!

I teach an inquisitive and creative bunch of 7th and 8th graders.

My students love to create art linking to science, do hands-on experiments, sing silly science songs, acquire stickers for their science journals, and watch Lizzie the pet dragon chase crickets!

My Project

As a teacher I love to pull articles from the Internet, books, magazines, and newspapers. Student Science Dictionaries will allow students to explore these resources with gusto! I love these dictionaries because they are hardy, and give just the right amount of information for budding scientists and researchers.

Currently my textbooks are over ten years old, and our library hasn't received adequate funding for some time.

That makes the resources available to students boring and out of date. I'm excited about these dictionaries because they'll allow me to access many types of content and modify for all levels of learners. I can give my 'honors' students rigorous activities and modify for my ELL and IEP buddies!
