I am the lucky teacher of an incredible class of 4th graders. Fortunately, I was able to move back into a classroom after two years of being the math interventionist. Unfortunately, I moved into a classroom with little in the way of supplies or resources. Since ours is a high-need community, the chance of getting "above and beyond" type materials is pretty slim.

Science often takes a back seat to math and reading but it's so exciting! My students are very interested in learning about the earth and how it's formed. Since we do not live near a volcano, we thought it would be fun to simulate an eruption at a small scale.

The erupting volcano classroom pack would allow the students to "visit" a volcano! The volcano model and the cut away earth would allow for a more realistic view of the earth as opposed to a poster. Hands on activities are so important for students and mine are amazingly enthusiastic about learning!

Your help will bring a clearer picture of part of the earth that cannot be seen. It might inspire them to broaden their career perspectives. Who knows? Maybe the next brilliant vulcanologist is right now in 4th grade.
