I am a kindergarten teacher in Texas, and this is my 9th year teaching. One of my kids' favorite centers in the past few years has been the listening center. The listening center is one of the kids weekly workstations that they have to complete during workstation time. A group of children listen to a story on CD. The children have to wear headphones during this time, because I am teaching reading to another group. When the story is over, they record their favorite character and the setting on paper. At this time my listening station consists of a tape recorder that sits on the floor and two headphones that are tangled in a plastic container. I have found a fantastic listening center. You can store everything students need to read along with their favorite stories in one handy, easy-access center! There are four durable vinyl pouches that are each designed to hold a book, a recording, and a CD player. Plus, the pouches easily slide in and out of our sturdy metal center—so kids can help themselves! I know my kids would greatly benefit from this awesome listening center. Thank you so much for your consideration and for thinking of children and teachers!
