Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach at a charter school where over 70% of the students are Latino and most are low income. We are a college prep school, and our goal is to get 100% of our students to college. In order to do this, I need to ensure that my students are given the same resources that students from higher-income families receive. I will be teaching an AP Psychology course next year because I think my students deserve to have engaging, college-level courses. Many students are excited about taking this class, but I am concerned about the number of facts, terms, and theories that my students will have to learn; especially because this is an entirely new discipline for most of them. There are many study aids and resources available to assist students, but I know that most of my kids will be unable to purchase them. With these study aids, my students will have a much higher chance of earning a 3 or higher on the AP exam, which will give them college credit at many universities! I would like to provide these study aids for my students to give them the best chance possible of earning a high score on the exam. Imagine how empowered they will feel knowing that they have college credits before they ever take a college course! You can provide this opportunity for my students by helping them get the study aids they need and deserve! Thank you in advance for your support!
