Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am currently a special education teacher for students ranging from kindergarten to second grade.

This is my first year teaching this age group and I am finding that hands-on activities really grab their attention. Unfortunately, I do not have many supplies to use with my students to make learning fun. By receiving egg incubator my students will be allowed to study the life cycle of a chicken from start to finish. Unfortunately, there are not many hands on materials located at my school that allows the students to see a visual representation of life cycles.

By receiving the egg incubator my students will be allowed to see that chickens hatch from eggs. Since my students live in the city they do not have the opportunities to really experience where things come from. Being able to hatch chicken in science will help younger students understand the life cycle of chickens. Visual stimulus also helps keep the attention of special education students.

By donating to my project you will be providing my students the opportunity to attempt see where chickens come from. Your generosity can make it possible for my students to hatch chickens which is something they have never been exposed to living in the city.
