Let's make it equal!! I am a first grade teacher with 25 fabulous 6 and 7 year old mathematicians!

It is difficult for first graders to understand that there are many ways to make numbers equal. The use of these tools are designed to help children to be actively engaged in their learning.

As a first grade teacher for over 25 years I know that young children learn best when working with hands-on materials. The primary bucket balance and weighted numbers will allow my students to visually see 2 is less than 6, or 2+5 in one bucket is equal to 7 in the other. Each number is in 5 gram weights with increments from 5 to 50 grams.These numbers are also color coded so they can recognize odd and even numbers and each number has the number word spelled on the back to reinforce word recognition.

With your help, my students will have the tools to reinforce their math skills and become successful mathematicians!
