The Exciting Days of Summer

My students need art and classroom supplies for summer camp, from paint to beads.

I am a teacher at a child care center and I work with the children that come to the before and after school programs a well as the kindergarteners that stay all day. I will also be the lead teacher for our summer camp. This summer we are going to be moving our camp to another school building because of renovation to our building. As I am in the process of planning I am finding many things that I will need in order to make this a successful summer. Children come to camp at 7:00a.m. and they can stay until 6:00p.m. We provide breakfast and 2 snacks and the children bring their own lunches. Summer camp will provide a safe and fun place while in an educational environment. We will have weekly themes including: Olympic Games, Bless the U.S.A., Everyone can Recycle, Christmas in July, It's a Jungle Out There, All Around the World and more. This is an 11 week camp for children pre-school through 5th grade. With each weekly theme there will be math, literacy & art activities. Children will also have time to make a lot of their own choices and play games. We will also be able to offer cooking projects and swimming in the high school pool. The first theme of the summer is Kid Concoctions. During this week students will be making things and do experiments with things they may find at home. We also will do crafts everyday which involve basic art supplies. During the Olympics week students will be painting different flags and making a book about the different sports. When we get to the week, "It's a Jungle Out There", we will be decorating our room to look like a jungle with vines and animals hanging around the room. Many projects will need craft supplies to be completed. I have a need for many art supplies. I have requested supplies like pom poms, wiggle eyes and felt as well as paint and scissors. Another item that I have requested is storytime puppets. It would be great to have funds for the art & classroom supplies so these students have a special summer doing exciting activities while their parents are at work. Your help will ensure that camp students have the supplies they need for a summer of fun without extra costs.
